Intensifying internationalization

October 31st I wrote about the governmental internationalization report which presents a number of suggestions aiming to strengthen and increase international involvement, exchange and cooperation at Swedish universities.

For Swedish universities this is a report of great importance. Currently Sweden can hardly be said to be at the forefront of academic internationalization. Therefore, it is excellent that we now have in our hands a proposal for a comprehensive national strategy that aspires to meet the growing international competition and to exploit new opportunities. There is a lot of potential here.

Work on daily basis

At Karolinska Institutet internationalization is very much in evidence in our education as well as in our research, and we work on a daily basis to be even more visible on the international scene.

A couple of weeks ago I was honored to award a number of international students from outside of EU the KI Global Master’s Scholarship. It was a great opportunity for me to meet these students.

Watch the video

You can get to know them and learn about their thoughts, dreams and goals by watching their portraits in this video, made by KI Digital Ambassadors Rahul and Mariam.

Specifically you may be interested in their response to the key question: Why did you choose to study at KI?

You can find out more about KI’s Global Master Programmes on our web site.

And don’t forget that the last day to apply is January 15th!
